A Novelistic Work in the Making

“A book does not end with the last line of the manuscript. Its true encounter with readers begins with its publication.”

Rida Lamrini and his novelistic fresco in three volumes: As Long As I Can Tell You I Love You, At the Gates of the Stars, and The Meanders of Oblivion

01. Writing in Service of the Human Condition

This novelistic work does not seek to add another title to library shelves. It is an exploration of the human condition, giving central place to characters, their wounds, aspirations, and the choices that shape their destinies.

The novels focus less on events themselves than on their repercussions on beings: renunciations, chance encounters that turn into pivotal moments, silences, secrets, and the paths taken to rebuild oneself.

The ambition is to offer stories that accompany readers long after the final page, leaving a lasting emotion, question, or reflection. It is in this spirit that a novelistic fresco was designed, where each volume can be discovered independently while participating in a shared universe where memory, love, transmission, identity, and the shadow present in everyone resonate together.

The Meanders of Oblivion marks the culmination of this first cycle without being a final point. On the contrary, it opens the way to new narrative territories, other characters, and other forms of suspense.

This vision stems from a simple conviction: a book does not end with the manuscript. Its true encounter with readers begins with its publication.

02. A Cohesive Novelistic Universe

Rida Lamrini's novels feature distinct plots and settings, but meet around the same fundamental questioning of human nature. They portray women and men whose lives turn upon a meeting, a disappearance, a secret, a betrayal, an exile, a war, or simple chance.

Memory occupies an essential place. It shapes identity as much as it can become a wound or an enigma. Some characters seek to recover their past, others try to break free. Between remembrance and oblivion, destinies are built.

Love is another guiding thread, far from idealized representations. It is confronted with time, distance, silences, renunciations, and impossible choices.

Suspense is never an end in itself. It becomes a narrative tool revealing the deep motivations of characters, their contradictions, and buried truths.

The Mediterranean also traverses this universe. More than a backdrop, it is the symbolic matrix where departures, returns, exiles, fractures, secrets, and hopes cross paths.

At the crossroads of psychological novel, thriller, and historical fiction, this work claims above all a literature of human complexity, where emotion, reflection, and narrative tension advance together.

03. Building a Literary Archipelago Rather Than Aligning Titles

The ambition is not to accumulate publications, but to erect a cohesive novelistic edifice where each book is both an independent island and part of a broader archipelago.

The fresco composed of As Long As I Can Tell You I Love You, At the Gates of the Stars, and The Meanders of Oblivion illustrates this approach. It is not a classic trilogy built around a fragmented plot, but three independent novels linked by a shared universe, recurring characters, narrative echoes, and common themes.

A reader discovering a single volume gains a complete story. One exploring the whole discovers additional depth, where characters, events, and questions resonate from book to book.

This approach allows great creative freedom: changing eras, settings, or registers while maintaining a strong literary identity. Characters evolve, but the core questions remain: What do we do with our memory? What remains of our commitments? How do love, time, violence, or chance shape an existence?

Upcoming projects — The Shadow of the Spectre, Microfinance in Morocco: The Golden Age, and The Untouchables of Casablanca — reflect this commitment to building a lasting, identifiable body of work.

04. The Novelistic Fresco: Three Novels, One Universe

The fresco developed progressively, as certain characters continued to exist beyond their initial story and new questions called for further developments:

📖 As Long As I Can Tell You I Love You

Exploration of the heart's impulses, intimate wounds, and the strength of feelings confronted with irreversible choices.

✨ At the Gates of the Stars

Broadening perspective: collective history disrupts and reorients individual destinies.

🎞️ The Meanders of Oblivion

Culmination of the cycle: exploring links between memory, oblivion, silence, and truth with narrative tension.

What remains of us in the memory of those we have loved?
